“Lindsay – don’t move!!” He shouted. The moment she looked at him, the dinosaur figure moved, revealing two massive red and yellow eyes which locked onto her when she was looking away from it. A low growl erupted from its throat and a sudden gust of wind hit the small weasel when it huffed, making her freeze in fear. It was right then that she understood why her friend had sounded so frantic and forced herself to see what was behind her – once she saw the ghost-white dinosaur staring at her, she lost her breath and her green eyes shrank, losing their color immediately. She couldn’t move no matter how badly she wanted to.

Oh no...Rudy, she thought barely over her heartbeat. The beast roared at her after spotting its scale flicker around her neck, making her flinch, but suddenly she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist and pull her off to the right. She was stopped by a tree hitting her back and saw Buck holding her down with his knife in his mouth, staring maliciously at the dinosaur with his nose crinkled and the fur on his spine standing up. He looked like he was ready to kill the white monster even if it meant his own death would ensue. He quickly returned his blade to his hand and shot a glance to the female, not even changing the death glare he was wearing.

“You stay here, Linz, it’s me he wants!!” He ordered, but just when he was about to jump out into the clearing again, he felt her hand yank his shoulder.

“No, he wants us both!” she snapped, holding up her scale. Buck glanced between her face and the scale and was about to object, but then he saw that she was showing the same hateful expression that he was. He then darted through the bushes and left her alone, holding his knife over his head, shouting at Rudy by his massive left foot.
He delivered a hard blow to the monster’s ankle, making a growl thrust out of it – it looked down at him and narrowed its eyes, baring its many sharp fangs at the weasel. Buck fearlessly held the tooth up high with a psychotic grin from ear to ear and leaned back so he wouldn’t have to strain his neck.

“Still trying to get this back?!” he yelled. Rudy answered with an earsplitting roar and with his eyes ablaze, tried to snap his enormous jaws down at the small weasel in hopes of catching him. Buck rolled away with inches to spare and watched his mortal foe lift its head up with narrowed eyes, focusing back onto him. Instantly he jumped up and made a mad dash to the bushes a few feet past Rudy’s tail, but halfway through, he got tripped up by it. He was partly dragged in the opposite direction with the white tail against his stomach until he felt his feet lift off the ground – he tightly gripped down on the dino’s tail with his left hand and found himself suddenly staring at the end of its snout.

“Hello, big guy...” he said with a timid smile. He glanced down and quickly realized that he was about five hundred feet above the ground, so he had no choice but to hang on at the moment. An evil smile crept along Rudy’s face, exposing more of the sharp teeth around the edges of his mouth when he discovered that he had the weasel completely trapped. Then he opened his mouth so his forked tongue could slither towards Buck, but he reeled it back when he received a painful cut from his own tooth that had been stolen from him. He was getting far more irritated by now, so instead of taking his time with the weasel, he decided to rid of him once and for all.

Buck wrapped himself around the dinosaur’s tail with a quick whimper and his eye widened when he felt himself slipping off, directly into Rudy’s mouth. In a desperate effort to delay his fate, he dug his sharp black claws deep into the spaces between the large pasty scales – thankfully it held him firmly in place. Rudy hissed at him, so the weasel stuck his tongue out, but that was his mistake: from that gesture, the gigantic tail began to swing up and down in a whip-like motion which was making it much harder for Buck to keep himself from either being throw into the air or smashed into the ground.

“I’m warning you -” he was nearly tossed up, “I’ll only be more trouble -” then he was nearly smacked against the dirt, “when I’m dead!!” His ears shot downwards against his head when he discovered that the dinosaur hadn’t even considered his warning. A small worm-like blur caught his eye on the ground, so he looked down only to notice that the creature was already hidden in some nearby bushes, and then he remembered that Lindsay was still safe behind the trees on the other sides. His mild distraction caused him to loosen his grip very slightly; It was just enough for him to be whipped into the air. His knife slipped out of his hand, landing on the ground below while he himself went higher and higher until stopping, and then he gradually began to fall back down...directly underneath Rudy’s awaiting jaws.

Buck screamed, unable to escape for the first time, and landed hard against the rough tongue. He was shaken up after the jaws snapped shut like a pair of boulders falling together and tried to fight for his life while Rudy naturally dragged him down; his large tongue coiled around the weasel’s hips and thrust him towards the back of his neck, ignoring the claws scratching against his gum lining.

“Shoot!!” Buck cried. He just barely missed the dinosaur’s uvula and found himself falling fast into the damp darkness below. After a few seconds he landed against something that felt like another large reptile, so he used his hands to find out what kind of creature he was standing on – it was a giant crocodile, about fifty feet long or so with lots of muscle on its limbs. He could tell after feeling the ridges along its back, and then he was nearly thrown off when Rudy began moving around once more.

“Oh great...” he muttered, finally noticing that his vision was adjusting to the dim lighting. He could see a few other free-floating corpses decaying in the stomach acid and sighed, resting on his haunches. A small jolt made him lean back, and then when he was stable again he felt a sharp sting against his head – a splash of acid hit him close to his right ear. At first he thought he’d be alright, but then the leaf patch came undone and laid against his leg. He gasped, watching stiffly as the edges of the stem and tip dissolved at an unbelievable speed.

“Well, I’ve probably got a minute or two before I’m dead like the rest of these beasties, so I might at least...” he didn’t finish. Buck stood up and took a piece of a floating limb at his feet, using it as an oar to reach another cadaver. Then he pulled them together until he had a large pile with himself on top of it all, sitting with a spherical turtle shell underneath his feet.

“I hope this gives me enough time to bust outta here,” he thought aloud, dropping the severed limb down to the bottom. This time when Rudy’s motions tossed everything around, nothing hit the weasel – it struck the other dead things, so he knew he was safe...for now.

Meanwhile, Lindsay had seen everything: her only hope for a mate in the dino world was gone, but she was too stubborn to let that be the end. She slapped herself and set into action like she’d planned to do while Buck had been fighting by wrapping one long vine over her shoulder, while another one was tied to her waist. Both had one end tied up like a lasso, so when she was ready with herself, she climbed up into a nearby tree and found another vine that she’d tied to a branch earlier. She took hold of it and jumped off, zooming straight for Rudy’s head with her free-vine twirling in her right hand.

“Rudy!” she yelled. The ghostly white monster turned towards her and roared, so she took her chance and whipped the lasso around his top jaw. Once he clamped shut again, she let go of her first swing and waited for the momentum to bring her on top of Rudy’s snout. He hissed at her, trying to throw her into the air like he’d done for her friend – that was exactly what she was hoping for. Suddenly she was trapped in the dinosaur’s mouth - like she planned - and took hold of the other end of the vine around her waist. As quickly as she could, the female lassoed his uvula and made sure it was tight before she was sucked down past the throat.
