The Chosen One

This is what happens when Nelly chooses a partner for life. (In this case, it's Adin) The hands holding the crystal ball? Those are Nelly's parents... Hope you like it!

Adin: Where are we?
Nelly: Well, in a crystal ball actually.
Adin: Who are those two holding it? Do you know them?
Nelly: *sigh* Yes. They're my parents...
Adin: You said you didn't have any parents though!
Nelly: Well, I lied okay?
Adin: *raises voice* Well, why would you lie about having any parents?
Nelly: Because they never approve of anyone I like!
Adin: Why not?
Nelly: They just want only the best for me, and "the best" isn't you or anyone else I know.
Adin: What happened to your relationship with them? Why do you lie about them?
Nelly: *pause* The last time I met "the best" person for me, my parents tried to get us together. Since I wanted to be with another and not him, I ran away. They haven't been able to find me for years. They don't even know I'm so powerful...or why I'm golden, unlike themselves. They only wanted me with one person, so every time I showed them a boy I loved, they always turned me against him with some sort of word-manipulation. They always made me feel like I made a wrong choice!
Adin: *gasp* I can't believe that!
Nelly: I know, I don't like my parenst...
Adin: *long pause* I don't know if this will work. I'm not sure I'm good with knowing you lied to me, and knowing that you don't even remotely like you parents. I'm starting to get second thoughts about... us.
Nelly: Wh-what? *sits down*
Adin: Nelly, I... I'm sorry...
Nelly: *sniffle* I thought I actually found a person to share my life with. *voice thickens* I guess I was wrong... again.
